Ahead of this weekend’s Haçienda Classical show for Sounds Of The City at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester, BBC Radio Manchester are broadcasting a documentary I’ve produced and presented about the making of the show. In “The Making Of The Haçienda Classical” I chat to the performers and musicians involved in the show including Peter Hook, our conductor and arranger Tim Crooks, our singers Rae Hall, Yvonne Shelton and Melanie Williams plus members of the AMC Gospel Choir and the Manchester Camerata Orchestra. I also talk to some of the sound and production crew behind the scenes about what it takes to make the show sound amazing. I also feature some exclusive, never heard before audio from some of last year’s live shows.
You can listen to “The Making Of The Haçienda Classical” onBBC Radio Manchester at 9pm on Friday 12thJuly and at 5pm on Saturday 13thJuly. Alternatively you can listen online or via BBC Sounds for 28 days by visiting https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06t5g77
